The 1st Department of Pathology, Medical School of the National University of Athens serves clinical diagnostics, research and training needs related to the entire range of the subject of Modern Pathology and Cytology, incorporating all new methods and techniques of Molecular Biology, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. Additionally, it promotes the development of contemporary basic and applied biomedical research.

University of Zagreb School of Medicine (UZSM) is the oldest educational institution for medical training and research in the South-East Europe. It has a long tradition in education of medical doctors, as well as in research and clinical practice. UZSM is not only locally known, but it is recognized internationally as an excellent training and research institution. UZSM participated in six FP5 projects, seven FP6 and seven FP7 (one as coordinator).

The Ss. Cyril and Methodius University (UKIM) in Skopje, represents a functional community of 22 faculties, 5 research institutes and 11 accompanying members. At the moment, UKIM has around 50.000 enrolled students from FYROM in all cycles of studies, as well as over 700 foreign students.  It has more than 2300 teaching and scientific staff and over 300 associates that are engaged in the teaching, educational and scientific process at the faculties. UKIM has established long-term bilateral cooperation with 75 foreign universities participating in a very large number of international projects.
